With 89 million visitors a year, France is the most popular tourist destination in the world.

It's no wonder with its world famous cuisine, iconic landmarks, insane beaches, top ski resorts and world class art and architecture. There is something for everyone in France.

Paris is one of my favourite places to visit for a weekend away. With its abundance of world class landmarks, endless museums, romantic walks, beautiful parks and amazing food, it's easy to have a fantastic time on a tight budget.

Lunch by the Eiffel Towel

If your budget is tight and you cant quite afford one of the amazing restaurants with an Eiffel Tower view, then don't worry! Skip the expensive restaurants, buy a bottle of wine and a picnic from a local supermarket. Head to 'Parc du Champ de Mars', a large open grassy area behind the Eiffel tower. A perfect place to relax, enjoy the view and take some photos!

The Louvre

No visit to Paris is complete without a visit to the worlds largest art museum. Arrive early to avoid the queues, alternatively buy your ticket online to reduce your waiting time.

Watch the sunset from a rooftop bar

Nothing beats a busy day of site seeing rounded up with a sunset drink over the city. There are many rooftop bars in Paris which all get busy around sunset. Get there early and enjoy the view and a leisurely drink. A few favourites include: Bar le Perchoir, Le Jardin Suspendu (open June - September) and Le rooftop at the Peninsula Hotel for views of the Eiffel Tower. None of these are budget options (a beer at Le rooftop will set you back 16 euros!) however its absolutely worth it for the service, views and atmosphere.
